John Hackworth, Pastor
Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. began his ministry as the 12th pastor of Robinhood Road in July of 2005. John is a graduate of Carson-Newman College and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He has been in full-time Christian ministry since 1994, serving churches in Kentucky and North Carolina before being called to Robinood Road Baptist Church. John and his wife, Karla, have three children: Abby, Maggie, and Jake. John and Karla also raised a foster son: Kirk Roberts, who is now married and living in Winston-Salem as well.
Jason East, Minister of Family Life
Jason and Melanie come to us from Willow Oak Baptist Church in Walnut Cove where he faithfully served as a children’s church worker, teacher, and assistant minister to youth and children. Jason is a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Gardner-Webb University. Jason and Melanie live in Walnut Cove with their family. Since joining Robinhood Road Baptist Church, God has blessed their family with a lovely daughter and rambunctious triplet boys. ​In 2019, Jason became our full-time Minister to Families. By being involved with children from birth through high school, he has the unique opportunity to minister to families through key life changes and events.
Michael Brazier, Discipleship Director
Michael is a graduate of Liberty University with a B.S. in Religion with a concentration on Biblical and Theological Studies. Michael comes to RRBC with his lovely wife of ten years, Emily. Michael’s focus has been the growth of the RRBC Sunday school program while also helping in any other areas in which he is needed.
Jerry Moore, Music Director
Jerry Moore has faithfully served Robinhood Road Baptist Church as our worship leader and sanctuary choir director. Jerry is a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and employed throughout the week by Southeastern Freight. Jerry is married to Kay and together they have one son, Ethan. Jerry also has two step-sons: Jeremy and Christopher Long.
Amy Gavin, Preschool Director
Amy Gavin has been serving as Director of our preschool since 2016 school year! I love children and am passionate about providing them with a quality early education! I think the most important thing we can give to each child and family that come through our doors is unconditional love. We have a great school and wonderful teachers that truly love the children. Our goal is to make this Preschool the best it can be and to provide happy memories for your child. If you are looking for a preschool, please come visit. You will like what you see!
Karlee Matherly, Office Manager
Karlee comes to us with over 12 years of administrative experience working in the office of an Oral Surgeon. She joined us in July of 2024 and is excited to be working with the staff and other people here at Robinhood Road Baptist Church. Karlee’s daughter, Kolbi, and husband, Cory, love spending time together as a family, and especially like going to the ball field.
